By the time June rolls around, a lot of moms are running on fumes. We’ve driven our kids to multiple activities, cheered them on at concerts, tournaments, award nights, and graduations—all while running businesses, or working full time…and then some. We do it all…of course, from desire, but we don’t have a choice, do we? People depend on us, and we can’t disappoint.
For me, these mom activities are mostly a thing of the past, but I’m still on the go constantly, caring for my mom, my customers, my employees, my businesses and my sweet pup who broke his toe. And what’s the first thing that gets put on the back burner? Personal wellness. You know it. Suddenly, it’s been two weeks since you’ve exercised, you’re making poor nutritional choices, and you’re feeling run down. Then the universe says NO MORE… and you get sick, or sad, or disconnected from the things that lift you up.
The Spiral is Real
I am in the middle of that spiral right now… and let me tell you, it’s tough to get out of it.
The reason is that your hormones get out of whack. Your cortisol levels and sugars are skyrocketing, and your body can’t process the little bit of good food you’re giving it, so it goes into a tailspin. For times like these, it’s important to be prepared with easy, nutrient-dense foods that give your body the extra help it needs. Enter…adaptogens.
How Adaptogens Work
When I was deep in the mom hustle of school drop-offs, work, sports schedules and back to work at night…the only thing that saved me was preparing and freezing little snack/meal replacement balls. As I learned about adaptogens, it dawned on me that I could hide these extra boosts of wellness in my quick snack. That’s how the Yeu-On-the-Go bites line started.
Adaptogens are plants and other natural substances that help your body adapt to stress, anxiety, and fatigue. They work by interacting with the body’s primary stress response system, returning cortisol levels to normal and helping the body reset.

Each adaptogen has its own way to support the body. Here are a few that I use in our Yeu bites.
- Activated Charcoal – When you overindulge, it helps pull out the toxins that pull you down.
- Ashwagandha – Feeling a bit off? Ashwagandha is known for calming anxiety.
- Blue Spirulina — A great antioxidant assist.
- Rhodiola – Boosts energy, stamina and strength.
- Turmeric & Ginger – When you need to bring down inflammation.
- Tulsi (holy basil) – Feeling wrung out? Tulsi is a great immunity booster.
Rebalance is Possible…One Bite at a Time

Adaptogens are an amazing natural way to help the body find its way back to homeostasis. If only we could create balance and live within those confines!!! If only we could find a magic pill that created that balance.
Sadly, there is no magic pill. Happily, your body is an amazing machine that can reset and rebalance. Just like a car, it needs the right fuel….and if it gets the wrong kind, it feels fatigued and depressed and bloated. Healthy eating, movement, solid sleep, and good connections are the key to creating balance.
Sometimes that is really difficult, and that is exactly when to supplement your diet with a delicious snack…one that sneaks in a healthy adaptogen to gently guide you back to homeostasis. Give our Yeu On-the-Go bites a try. I’ll be eager to hear what you think!
